Leather: a form of eco-responsible recycling
Did you know that bovine leather comes from food consumption? And that this consumption is greater than the use of hides for leather goods?
Rather than burning or burying these skins from our food supply, leather goods transform them into sustainable pieces. It's an eco-responsible choice that reduces waste and environmental impact.
"The leather industry is a circular economy model, because it processes a waste product from the agri-food industry. We recover skins which, if not transformed into leather, would inevitably be thrown away, incinerated, or destroyed." - Franck Boehly
In so doing, we promote the responsible use of available resources.
At Phi 1.618, we go even further: we source our leathers from the "dormant" stocks of the great luxury houses. As a result, the leathers we use are of the highest quality: full-grain calf leather.
We're proud to be part of this sustainable approach, creating leather goods that combine elegance and respect for the environment.
